The University of Wisconsin Outreach Services and Stout Continuing Education are offering three learning options to assist you in taking charge of your financial future.

Six years in development, "Personal Investing" uses a uniquely innovative approach combining numerous discussions with links into dozens of available Internet sources for hands-on applications. It shows you how to fully use these resources to develop your own personal investment strategy.

The learning options include: self-paced study, self-paced study with two major author supervised projects, and an online course for traditional and non-traditional adult learners with university credit if desired.

The electronic guidebook (CD) for self-paced study takes you step by step into the world of investing by describing terms and ratios in a non-threatening manner and explaining how to use this jargon when evaluating all your financial options. The material covers all major investment vehicles: CDs, bonds, stocks, exchange traded funds, mutual funds and domestic index funds. Practical exercises are included to enhance your learning curve.

The online course guides you through all your investment options and includes numerous quizzes and author supervised projects to ensure you understand the basics of each investment vehicle and can comfortably navigate all the important financial websites.
